Does topical use of Vitamin E improve scars?
No there are no benefits to using vitamin E to improve scars. According to a study conducted by the University of Miami Department of Dermatology vitamin E has no positive effect on scars. It may even worsen the scar appearance in more than 90% of the cases! One third of the patients in the study developed an allergic reaction and had to stop the use of vitamin E.

But consuming vitamin E might be beneficial to scar healing. A vitamin E rich diet may consist of wheat germ, muesli, avocados, tomatoes, nuts, vegetable oils, seeds and dark green leafy vegetables like spinach.
