How to get rid of scars? | My own search for answers

Unfortunately it isn't possible to get rid of scars completely. At least almost impossible. But the good news is that there are ways to improve scars to a huge extent. There are many creams, lotions, patches and other scar healing products on the market. Many of them are a waist of money. But some scar improving products do work. I know this from experience.

About 8 years ago I got scarred pretty severely. I started doing research on scars. I had so many questions. Did I have to live the rest of my life with those ugly scars? How could I improve them? What is important when treating scars? What works and what not. I searched the Internet for everything I could find on scar treatment. I wrote e-mails, called professional organizations, asked advice with private cosmetic clinics, I visited doctors and a regular plastic surgeon. I found out a few things.
